Dr. Sharad Anna Deshmukh

Dr. Sharad Deshmukh is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist based in Maharashtra, where he practises at several hospitals in and around Nashik. He is associated with the Apollo Hospital (Nashik), Sahyadri Hospital (Nashik), Prayas Hospital (Malegaon), Shree Sainath Hospital (Sangamner), Shri Vighnaharta Hospital (Dhule), Dr. Yeolekar Hospital (Sinnar) and Vinod Hospital (Jalgaon). Dr. Deshmukh holds a postgraduate MD degree in Medicine and is also a Diplomate of the National Board (DNB) in Gastroenterology. In addition, he has successfully completed many specialised training programmes in various aspects of gastroenterology and hepatology.

Dr. Deshmukh has had vast experience in all areas of his field, having performed over 2,500 diagnostic and therapeutic upper GI endoscopies, and over 1,500 diagnostic/therapeutic colonoscopies and sigmoidoscopies. In addition, he has managed more than 200 liver transplants, over 100 ERCP procedures and over 50 liver biopsies. During the course of acquiring his DNB, he gained valuable experience in managing several cases of cadaveric liver transplants at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai, which is among the top five multispeciality hospitals in India and the busiest liver transplant centre in the country. He has served as Registrar in the Critical Care Unit at Jaslok Hospital (Mumbai), Senior Resident in the Department of Medicine at ESIC Hospital (Mumbai), and as Consultant Gastroenterologist at Wockhardt Hospital (Nashik) and Tata Memorial Hospital (Mumbai).

The hospitals that Dr. Deshmukh is currently attached to are all well equipped with modern facilities to deal with various medical procedures such as adult and paediatric endoscopy and colonoscopy, Argon Plasma Coagulation (APC) for GAVE, radiation colitis, angioectasia and variceal band ligation.
